Pinterestingly enough...

Hello. My name is Amanda, and I'm an addict. My drug? Pinterest. I have 535 pins and I plan on many, many more. I have spent hours upon hours on Pinterest, in lieu of sleeping. I have a problem. And I have a feeling I'm not the only one!!

My pins are diverse, but mostly food (surprised?). I've made 9 of the recipes and about 4 of the crafts. But I have been inspired by the world's craftiness and made things of my own. When I'm in an extremely motivated state, I try to stay away from Pinterest so I can come up with my own stuff, but there probably isn't anything I can think up that hasn't been done. Anyhoodle, here are some items I've made. Sorry, I need to invest in a better camera.
Jewelry Screen, or a Bowholder

I also made some cute bags for a my friends' daughters.

Can you tell I like making felt flowers? They are my craft of the moment.

My favorite pins are of Home Decor ideas. Right now, with a toddler, those dreams of redecorating are far off into the horizon, but a girl can dream! Look at these colors! So unusual and pretty. I would love this for my daughter's big girl room or the guest bedroom, because I KNOW the hubs would put the kibosh on this for our bedroom. The man can wear pink, but there's no way he'd sleep in teal and pea green sheets. Sigh...

Now I can't end this without a recipe! I found this one for Ginger Crinkles in Woman's Day magazine and they are to die for! I was never a big ginger snap fan, because I'm not into cloves and cinnamon (unless I'm drinking wassail). But these are only flavored with molasses and fresh grated ginger. The butter gives them a crispy chewiness that is heavenly. Please try them over the holidays and let me know what you think!

Don't it make my brown eyes blue

BLUEBERRY. TEA. LATTE. Thank you, QuikTrip! My favorite convenience store, besides Buc-ee's of course.

Speaking of Buc-ee's...you have to try the Beaver Nuggets if you get the chance. Sinful, sweet and gum-grating. I would describe it as a corn puff with a thick caramel coating, or hull-less caramel corn...kinda. They only come in a 13oz bag. I've polished one off before and I was sick the rest of the day, so don't overindulge. Share if you can. Good luck with that.

Anyway!!! Back to the latte. It actually tasted like I was drinking a blueberry muffin. Now that may sound disgusting in a way, because I hate soggy bakery goods. Cake DOES NOT touch ice cream. Bread pudding is a sign of endtimes. But trust me it's delicious. It wasn't so sweet that I couldn't drink the entire thing. On myfitnesspal.com the calorie count for a 20oz cup is 360. Ouch! I don't know why I looked. <whimper> Guess I'll have to treat myself occasionally.

Since I'm on a gluttony roll, let me tell you about Godiva. First, are you a member of the Godiva Rewards program? If not, I feel for you. It's completely free and with no purchase necessary you get a free truffle every month at their stores. I've yet to leave there with just the one free piece, but I digress. The employees are so friendly and don't make you feel like a mooch. I tested this on Saturday by brazenly announcing I was just there for my free piece, thank you very much, then folding and buying one of the new Parfaits. The clerk just smiled, knowingly. The flavor I got was Death by Chocolate. I seriously had an out of body experience eating it. Go now!
Heaven!
I'm about to go into a sugar coma just thinking about all of these. And that's not a bad thing.

Happy Wednesday!

What's the Dill? It's National Pickle Day!

I still don't know why I call my daughter Pickles. I think because I like the word, how it sounds. It's a happy word. At any rate, a friend just let me know that today is National Pickle Day. Seriously? That's awesome! I'm such a pickle fan I even dressed my daughter (Bellamy) as one for her first Halloween.

Besides the word, I absolutely l-o-v-e eating pickles. Especially fried with ranch. Yum. Paula Deen has a recipe courtesy of Uncle Bubba's Oyster House for Fried Pickles using the hamburger dill slices. As soon as I can get my hands on a deep fryer I'm making those suckers. For now I have to hang my head at the local Hooter's to get this kind (as opposed to the spear version found everywhere these days). Here's a pic of those nummy golden discs of wonder.

Have a great day, y'all!
